Become an

Oak Ridge Cemetery

Volunteer

We would love to have your time!

Volunteers can be individuals or groups.

Board Members:  2-3 Meetings per year to make decisions regarding repairs and maintenance.

Mowers: 8-10 mowing sessions (2-3 hours each) from May thru September for an assigned section of the cemetery.

Leaf Blowing:  Once a year in November.  Anyone with a leaf blower can blow leaves into the road for a section of the cemetery. A hired vacuum truck will pick up and haul leaves to the compost site.

Plot and Grounds Maintenance:  Commitment is to keep one or more plots maintained. This includes keeping the headstone  upright, removing weeds, planting (if so desired).  Each plot is a 15 ft. x 24 ft. section with 6 grave sites. Bring your own lopper, digger, etc.  Great family activity.

Historians:  Commitment to take a section of the cemetery and build a knowledge base about who is buried and then build linkage to the family members using  social media, newspapers, etc.

Family Reconnection:  Reconnect with your ancestors by maintaining your family burial.  It is a great way to talk about the history of your family and to maintain a connection to past loved ones.

Lawn Mowing

When the storms of 2018 came through Faribault, the damage was significant. Volunteers and Donations helped to restore the cemetery.
